Region limits lawn watering to once a week
Between May 15 and September 30. The region of waterloo is encouraging residents to water their lawn once a week. No matter what your designated day is lawn watering is only allowed between the hours of 7:00 am and 10:00 am or from 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm in the evening.
Your Watering Day
To figure out your lawn watering day, all you need to know is the last digit of your address. Addresses ending in:
0&1 should water Mondays only
2&3 should water Tuesdays only
4&5 should water Wednesdays only
6&7 should water Thursdays only
8&9 should water Fridays only
Region of Waterloo Outdoor Water Use By-law
The Region has made exceptions for homeowners who plant sod or seed on their property.
To honour the water use By-law, homeowners are required to display the sign shown below prominently near the front of the property. The day’s date should be written on the sign in the space provided using a permanent marker.
The sign allows you to water for a full 24 hours after planting and then during the watering hours (7-10 a.m. and 7-11 p.m.) for the next 6 consecutive days.
